An Arlene Walsh mini southwest applique pattern. This mini quilt features a bead embroidery head over a fused fabric body. The figure is embellished with embroidery, beading, and fused dimensional feathers. This project is perfect for folks who enjoy hand work. The head beads are sewn onto a heavy facing called Timtex and later attached to the quilt. Bead embroidery features just five stitches that are quick to learn. By varying the size and shapes of the beads you will make these five stitches seem like more. The Desert Spirit is further embellished with free motion quilting.
