Improv with Arlene ~ 2 Day Class
Let us introduce you to improvised piecing. Discover the freedom of NO rulers, NO patterns, NO paper piecing, NO rules just improvisational piecing and quilting! With improv piecing you are completely in control. You are not dependent on a pattern, templates, measuring, or any other restrictions. The fun is asking what if and then finding out. It's amazing how easy it is to get started. All you need is your rotary cutter, mat, and sewing machine. The sample is for inspiration, yours will look different. Different size, different set, just different choices. This class will put a smile on your face so join Arlene to learn and embrace the adventure of freestyle quilting - from design to finished project, this fun class will have you following your creative muse and learning new tricks and techniques along the way.

| Instructor Bio: | Arlene brings over fifty years of experience in quilt making and design to her classes. She started back when a quilt maker used cereal boxes as template material, but she was hooked. Back in Minnesota she began expanding by hand quilting for others as well a quilt repair. Her personal quilting began to take over when she discovered needle turn applique. What fun! Now she could draw a picture and put it into fabric. In 1994 she started Arlene Walsh Designs, a quilt pattern company that specialized in Southwest designs. Arlene has lectured and taught in shops and at guilds across the southwest until retirement in 2018. She lives in Green Valley with her husband, Larry, of 56 years. Quilt Central Studio is now her home away from home. |
