Flute Player with Arlene - 1 Day Class



Do you enjoy hand work, then the Flute Player is just for you!

This whimsical Kokopelli is a fused figure dancing to his music.  Kokopelli features a large beaded head made using the hand sewing technique called "bead embroidery".  For fun there are notes represented by more beads coming from his flute.  This mini quilt (approximately 10x16.5) is surrounded by a fused confetti binding.  Bring a lunch and going the fun.

Instructor: Arlene Walsh
Instructor Bio: Arlene brings over fifty years of experience in quilt making and design to her classes. She started back when a quilt maker used cereal boxes as template material, but she was hooked. Back in Minnesota she began expanding by hand quilting for others as well a quilt repair. Her personal quilting began to take over when she discovered needle turn applique. What fun! Now she could draw a picture and put it into fabric. In 1994 she started Arlene Walsh Designs, a quilt pattern company that specialized in Southwest designs. Arlene has lectured and taught in shops and at guilds across the southwest until retirement in 2018. She lives in Green Valley with her husband, Larry, of 56 years. Quilt Central Studio is now her home away from home.
