Hi Neighbor or Guess Hoo Collage with Arlene - 2 Day Class

Talented instructor Arlene Walsh will teach the collage quilting method with a pattern of your choice from her designs of "Guess Who" or "Hi Neighbor." The owl and the colorful lizard use your scraps and creativity to make a unique piece for your home or as a gift. We dare you to make just one; it is so much fun!

The collage technique involves small pieces of fabric arranged in a pleasing and fluid unit. This definition doesn't reflect how much fun the process is - it's like eating potato chips; as you add fabric, you get excited to find the perfect next piece. Unlike most raw edge appliqué, this process uses a glue product to base the fabric in place until stitching. Fast & Fun, Fun, Fun!

If you are a fan of bead embellishment - join us for the 'Add Beads" class as well.

Instructor: Arlene Walsh
Instructor Bio: Arlene brings over fifty years of experience in quilt making and design to her classes. She started back when a quilt maker used cereal boxes as template material, but she was hooked. Back in Minnesota she began expanding by hand quilting for others as well a quilt repair. Her personal quilting began to take over when she discovered needle turn applique. What fun! Now she could draw a picture and put it into fabric. In 1994 she started Arlene Walsh Designs, a quilt pattern company that specialized in Southwest designs. Arlene has lectured and taught in shops and at guilds across the southwest until retirement in 2018. She lives in Green Valley with her husband, Larry, of 56 years. Quilt Central Studio is now her home away from home.
